Lesson objectives

All learners will be able to:

· use the topical vocabulary and syntax appropriately talking about the topic “Natural disasters in Kazakhstan and around the world” with support

· express their own opinion with support, recognize and react verbally to the peer’s opinion while speaking about the topic

Most learners will be able to:

· express their own opinion about the topic without support

Some learners will be able to:

· give an extended talk on the topic “Natural disasters in Kazakhstan and around the world” without support

Assessment criteria

- use the topical vocabulary and grammar structures appropriately (through formative task)

- demonstrate an ability to organize and present their own opinions clearly when interacting with a peer (through monitoring the students’ participation in the discussion)

P. Students should predict the topic of the lesson looking at the words

What are we going to speak about today? “Natural Disasters” If necessary the teacher asks additional questions to lead the students to the topic: “Can weather be dangerous?” How can the weather be dangerous?”

Theme of the lesson is Natural disasters in Kazakhstan and around the world
