What personality characteristics, do you think, help people succeed in life/business?

 

¹I would like to tell you about human personality and, particularly, about personality characteristics helping people succeed in life and business.

²To begin with, it should be noted that success in life and business depends on personal qualities, draws of character, how a person approve (проявляет) himself in interaction with his or her surroundings. ³And, basically, human personality has the main meaning. ⁴What is a personality? ⁵So, a personality is the set of habitual behaviours, cognitions and emotional patterns, that develop from biological and environmental factors.

⁶It's of great interest that one of the well-known classifications of personalities was introduced by Carl Jung, a Swiss psychiatrist of the 19th - the middle of the 20th century. ⁷So, Jung identified 2 personality types which he called extroverts and introverts. ⁸Extroverts are open-minded to the surrounding world. ⁹And as for introverts, they are not so sociable and find meaning in themselves.

¹⁰As a rule, extroverts are often leaders in groups. ¹¹Introverts, vice versa, feel comfortable alone. ¹²They have a lot of emotions, but they are hidden inside. ¹³Besides, they often have creative ideas, and they have good abilities in planning.

¹⁴And, in my opinion, both extroverts and introverts can be clever, intelligent and strong-willed.

  ¹⁵It should be noted that the fact that we live in the world of extroverts, is for sure. ¹⁶And, as a rule, extroverts have more friends than extroverts, because they are easy-going, self-confident, assertive, energetic. ¹⁷In addition, they are adventurous and sometimes talkative. ¹⁸And, talking about business, I'd like to say that extroverts usually have more friends among their colleagues, and it's interestingly and fascinatingly (увлекательно) to communicate with such people.

¹⁹However, as for me, I believe that introverts, of course, also can be very good and interesting friends and businessmen. ²⁰Because such people are usually kind, thankful, generous, sympathetic, reliable, hard-working and thoughtful.

²¹On the whole, I believe that good businessman should be self-confident, assertive, strong-willed, bossy, creative, resourceful, easy-going, open-minded, charismatic and, certainly, hard-working.

²²It should be noted that, as for nowadays, psychologists became very interested in such feature of a personality as charisma. ²³Charisma is a kind of magic, and it's rare enough. ²⁴It should be noted that charisma makes its possessors more successful and gives them additional bonuses. ²⁵So, it affords people to influence strongly on their surroundings. ²⁶Charismatic people are often brilliant communicators.

²⁷I can give such examples of famous people possessing this quality of personality as, for instance, Oprah Winfrey, the famous presenter of a very popular talk show. ²⁸She became one of the richest women in the world thanks to her charisma. ²⁹Also it's of great interest that Marilyn Monroe, the film star, had so great charisma that Di Maggio, her husband, said about her: «It's no fun being married to an electric light.»

³⁰I'd like to emphasize that, unlike fame, charisma doesn't fade and disappear over time. ³¹In my opinion, every person has a charisma, and it may be developed, but more often extroverts possess a charisma.

³²Talking about charisma, I'd like to say that, as a rule, charismatic people have more friends than people not possessing this quality of personality. ³³And, of course, people feel happy in the company of such personalities. ³⁴Talking about business, I'd like to say that if you are charismatic person, your colleagues will enjoy time spent with you. ³⁵Moreover, you can get on the right side (расположить к себе) of your employer, and he or she will pay attention to you and subsequently can transfer to a higher position.

³⁶And, to sum up, it should be noted that, of course, not only extroverts, but introverts too can possess charisma. ³⁷I can give such examples as Michael Vrubel, a painter, Alexander Block, a poet, or, perhaps, Michael Dell, a founder « Dell » company producing computers. ³⁸So, introversion and shyness of these people didn't interrupt them to develop their talents and become successful, outstanding and famous personalities.
