2. Debates The teacher gives each student red, yellow and green cards. Read the questions below. If a student disagrees (or says “no”) with the statement he\she raises the red card, if a student is not sure about the statement he\she raises the yellow card and if a student agrees (of says “yes”) with the statement he/she raises the green card. In such a way with each statement there are different groups of people who think the same. Working as a team they should give arguments to persuade the opposite team. Teams speak one by one; they can also answer or comment on the argument of the opposite team.
· Shopping for new clothes is great. · It is important to wear fashionable clothes. · Brand clothes worth the money. · Have you ever bought imitation brand clothing? · Is there a stigma attached to people who buy no-name (no brand) clothing? · Being a fashion model would be an enjoyable interesting life. Would you like to be one? · How often have you actually seen someone actually wearing some of the more extreme fashion show creations? Does anybody wear them? Do you know these people? Who are they? What are they famous for? March the pictures with the descriptions. Some sentences are removed from each extract. Complete them with the appropriate sentence. Fill in the tables below.
