Session IV. Russian Business Schools: Towards Global Competitiveness (in cooperation with Analytical Center Expert and Graduate School of Economics and Management, Ural Federal University named after the first President of Russia B. N. Yeltsin) In the post-Soviet period, Russian business education has made a dramatic breakthrough. However, in recent years the situation has changed. Unlike the leading Russian universities, which have managed to handle the challenges of internationalization, access to the international education market, and a radical increase in scientific productivity, a major part of Russian business schools have kept a conservative path. They lag far behind not only developed countries, but also the rapidly growing countries of Asia and South America. That is evident from a significant lack of publications in the field of management in international peer-reviewed journals, a lack of publications in case-studies series, and an insufficient number of international students and teachers. One of the notable trends for European business schools in recent years is growing competition from business schools in the " Global South” countries. These countries have had substantial development, which makes them attractive destinations both for international students and scholars. A small but distinguished group of Russian schools are prominent in the landscape of business education, actively penetrating the global market of management education. Since 2017, the Expert Analytical Center has been implementing a communication and research project with a focus on the global competitiveness of business schools in the post-Soviet space (the results of the project were published in Expert magazine No. 28 (1037) of July 10 - http: //www.acexpert.ru/analytics/ratings/reyting-globalnih-biznes-shkol-rossii-i-stran-sng-.html). The results of the current year’s project are to be released and discussed at the roundtable. The results of the discussion will form the basis of a separate publication in the journal " Expert" (June 2018) and will be posted on the websites www.expert.ru and www.acexpert.ru
