Task 1. Read the role card.

You work for an international company. Your foreign partners are coming to discuss a new project. They will stay in Saint Petersburg a day longer to walk about the city. You will accompany them in this tour.   The rest of your classmates will act as your colleagues.

Task 2. Plan a sightseeing tour for your foreign guests.

a) Study the following Internet resources to find out information about restaurants, museums, schedule and tickets for theatres in St. Petersburg:

http://www.sptimes.ru/ http://petersburgcity.com/dine-and-wine/restaurants/ http://www.saint-petersburg.com/museums/index.asp http://www.balletandopera.com/

b) Answer the following questions:

1. What places of interest will you offer your foreign guests to see?

2. What will you tell about these places to keep your guests interested?

3. Where will they be able

- to buy souvenirs?

- to have meals? (find out more information about the place, the price and the menu)

4. What additional information do you need to make your tour successful?

Task 3. Estimate how much it will cost for your company to entertain your foreign partners (per person) according to your plan. Think of some possible ways to save the company's money.

Task 4. Work with a partner. Look at your notes and compare them with your partner's. In pairs discuss the best itinerary for a city tour as well as leisure activities (meals and entertainment). You have to plan your foreign visitors' day from 10 am to 10 pm.

Task 5. Organise a meeting where you can present the itinerary and the estimate to your colleagues. Answer their questions.
