Politics is an extremely interesting and discussed topic at any epoch. Translated from Greek, the word itself means the art of ruling the state”. More precise meaning found in dictionaries can apply to the direct activity of the state or community groups in various spheres of life, such as, economics, social relations, security and else. Politic affairs are often discussed by mass media, i.e. in newspapers, magazines, online editions. Journalists like to judge or criticize politicians. However, as the Greek philosopher once said: “Only very few can do politics while everyone can judge them”. In my opinion, working in the field of politics isn’t easy at all. Most people prefer to stay aside and let the rich and powerful to lead the state policy. However, it’s not right. Everyone should strive to understand the political affairs of the country as we are all the part of one society. It means that state policy applies to all of us and we all depend on it. That’s why people shouldn’t ignore the topic of politics and shouldn’t be careless with its terms and conditions. As I’ve mentioned before, being a politician is not an easy task at all. Politics shouldn’t be treated as one big show. It requires action on the first place. That’s why a true politician should be highly responsible, educated, balanced and provident. This person represents the interests of other people in state. For that reason he should be free of greed and corruption. He should put social interests above his own personal needs. If every politician in the country would follow this pattern, perhaps, the art of politics would sensibly improve.

Throughout history, people have always tried to establish an ideal world, where everyone could live in happiness, fairness and equality. Many great philosophers have worked on this question. They tried to find out what the ideal state is. They even created utopian societies for nations to live in. In my opinion, to achieve the ideal state is almost impossible. However, it should be pursued. The closest possible approach to the ideal state is the country with working laws, stable policy, conscious and tolerant society. Even the great philosopher Plato said that ideal state should satisfy the need for justice. He thought that public and general interests are much more important than private ones. He also stated that an ideal governor should be a philosopher. Every famous author or philosopher has once thought and expressed opinions on this topic. Among them Aristotle, Machiavelli, Campanella, Marx and others. In my opinion, the ideal state should think only about the benefits and interests of its people. It should also guarantee the freedom of cultural, spiritual and material development of people. Other than that, the state must ensure the sovereignty of the country and its territory. Next important values are order and justice. It would be great if the state gave every citizen good conditions for life and the opportunity for self-realization. The ideal state should act as the treasurer of the cultural and material wealth of its nation. Such condition of the state is usually called a utopia, which means something highly desirable but unlikely achievable.

My name is Ilya and I’m 15 years old. I’m often asked these days what I want to become in the future. It’s not an easy question to answer, because there are so many interesting professions. My parents tell me I should choose what’s best for me. At school I’m rather good at algebra, geometry, computer science and PE. Perhaps, computer programming would be a good choice in the era of computing, but I’ve decided to become an economist. In my opinion, it’s one of the most demanded and prestigious professions nowadays. It involves lots of self-education, research and analyzing, which can be interesting for me. Studying economics I can learn a lot about current state of our country in the world market. Things have changed in this field lately and I want to stay up-to-date and well-informed. Economists exercise many useful functions. For example, they can calculate costs and probable profits, provide business forecasts, monitor taxation levels, determine enterprise structures, investigate international economic situation, etc. All these activities seem to be rather exciting. I understand that I need some personal qualities to succeed in this profession, such as analytical mind, logical thinking, ability to be concise both in writing and speaking. Thus, I will work hard to achieve better results. If I get a chance, I will spend a year abroad doing the internship program. It can be good experience for me. Moreover, knowledge of foreign languages, especially of English is appreciated in the field of economy
