Find equivalents to the following words and expressions

Speech Exercises

Speak as if you were Phil. Introduce yourself. Imitate the recording.

2/ Following the model of Phil's introduction speak briefly about yourself mentioning:

- the place where you live

- whether it is convenient for you to get to your university (office)

- your occupation

- some problems and challenges in your life.

 

Turn the conversation of the four people from Episode 1 into a dialogue between Phil and Tom. Write it down and act it out.

Try to recollect a case from your experience when someone came up with a crazy idea and wanted to talk you into realizing it. What was it about? How did you respond? How was it sorted out?

Do you think Phil has supportive friends? Give arguments to prove your point of view.

If Phil agrees to the bet, what hardships might await him?

7/ Why do the friends refer to the book Around the World in 80 Days by Jules Verne? Have you read it?
