Lesson 16 «Перевод фразеологизмов»

 

Образность и эмоциональная окраска текста часто достигается при помощи использования фразеологических единиц. Образность в английском и русском языках может иметь разное выражение, и для сохранения передаваемой ею экспрессии в переводе требуется применение компенсирующих выразительных средств. Количество совпадающих по смыслу и образности фразеологических единиц в русском и английском языках сравнительно невелико. Иногда при переводе удается без лексических изменений воспроизвести исходный образ, который не противоречит нормам языка и естественно воспринимается слушателями. Такой перевод называется калькированием. Значительно чаще не удается подобрать соответствующий эквивалент, и для сохранения выражаемой им экспрессии приходится использовать другие стилистические средства или подыскивать близкий по смыслу фразеологический оборот или метафору. Иногда сохранение фразеологизма невозможно и его следует опустить в данной части текста и компенсировать в другой.    Opera is not really his cup of tea. Он не любит оперу .    Starting next year the cost of capital for Japanese business    will gothrough theroof.    Со следующего года стоимость капитала для японских компаний будет    крайне высока .    I think that the company’s position now is a far cry from its    position of 2000.    Я думаю, что сегодняшнее положение компании значительно отличается от    того, которое было в 2000-ом году
